Are we in control when it comes to internet and social media?

We humans take decisions in every second of our life. We tend to get some intuitive idea of what people do and intend to do. Once we know the person better, once we become close and become friends we tend to know more. This understanding comes from unconscious learning.  And now what if somebody, in fact, something records the decision you make, the choices you choose, the things you search. It can be processed, compiled and the logical ideas can be generated. The modern technology is all based on it. In today's world, the technology that uses data scientist, engineers, data analysis tools are actually leading the market. we can see examples of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, youtube and many more. They are special and dynamic because of it.

Now, the point is, when we are constantly making choices, giving decisions, the system can predict our preferences. And we fall for it as we love what we love to do. Thus, the chances of getting addicted become high.

 We create the world of ours with emotions, filled with reactions, and smile and love expressed in emojis. We keep ourselves to the center of the universe. Its no wrong in believing us as the center of the universe, but the realization of the fact that we are creating the world in the virtual space. And when our synaptic in our brain are activated by virtual senses, we lose the sense of reality. We feel powerful in our virtual world and when we do not feel the same in the real world it submerge us into sadness and stream of low esteem. The important questions to ask is are we in control? Are we in control of things around us? Are we the one making the decision or it’s just the directed decision that we are taking?

Most of the times we take directed decisions while using the internet and social media. There are many brilliant data scientists behind the technology to make that happen, can you beat them?

It’s really nice when the event that you want to join pops up in your profile, it’s really cool when you are shown the pictures of your crushes, wonderlands, beautiful quotes that you admire, it’s fun to search try not to laugh compilation video and just roll the autoplay, but then for how long? And then with the all the instincts of our mind recorded, the system can give what we want. This can lead us to some kind of addictive world. The hint of addiction can create ripple affecting emotions and our activities.

So it is really important to stop this domino effect to initiate. We need to know what we need and what we want, we really need to take a leap of ourselves. We need to ask ourselves some hard question of are we productive? Are we in control of what we do? Is it really necessary? How can I satisfy my ego or just walk away?

We all know, the modern technology is really awesome, it can bring wonders. It has been a tool make a global citizen and makes people much more competent.  But then when surfing it, we should be able to control it. We cannot let the machine to judge us; we can’t let them take into their world. The power should be in us to decide and take that control of the internet and in our life.
